JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
📍Location: Cheshire (Remote)
📆 Employment Type: Full-timeWe are looking for a friendly, organised and self-motivated Junior Designer to join our team based in Cheshire. This position will suit someone who is good at multi-tasking, eager to learn, cheerful, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The role will involve assisting in all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation and technical drawings as well as other design-related administration.
Technical Skills
2+ years of experience working on residential projects
Have a general understanding of project processes from concept, design development, through to site implementation
Able to source products to a design brief, quickly and efficiently
Knowledge of FF&E sourcing and working within budgets
Natural creative flair and able to produce lovely presentation moodboards
Autocad proficient, with the ability to draw technically
Excellent knowledge of PhotoShop, InDesign and Microsoft Office programs
Experience with the Google Suite preferable but not essential
Sketchup skills are essential
Keep accurate and detailed specifications and costing documentation
Personal Skills
Adaptable and flexible with a hands-on work ethic and a can-do attitude
Show strong signs of self-management and able to be proactive without guidance
Extremely organised and thorough, planning ahead and scheduling
Imaginative and resourceful with a keen eye for detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when building relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers
Fluent in English, verbal and written and must have a work permit for the UK
Full, clean UK driving licence
Role & Key Responsibilities
Proactively provide design support and administrative assistance across projects as required
Design and develop elements on projects
Work to agreed timescales
Obtain pricing and details on products as directed and order samples
Assist in the preparation of drawings, presentations and material specifications
Develop project knowledge and technical skills
Develop knowledge of the studio’s systems and processes
Attend all supplier meetings
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Required Experience
2+ years’ professional design experience
Design degree or design diploma from recognised interior design school/higher education
Good written and verbal communication skills
Some knowledge of FF&E suppliers
Relevant experience of working on elements of design projects with guidance and direction
Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and 3D modelling in SketchUp
